    Valentino did record a song in 1923 for fun and showed that he 

    had a deep , husky lilting voice ; of course he was singing but 

    I listened to it several times and if you pay close attention , you 

    can catch his real speaking voice .  There were actual recordings 

    of Rudy speaking but they are long gone . People like Gloria 

    Swanson who knew and acted with Valentino , said that he had 

    a “continental accent” with little trace of his true Italian accent. 

    I’m sure his voice would have translated well to sound movies 

   and that people would have enjoyed hearing his voice !

           During my research into Valentino’s life ; I’ve 

           been looking into his life for about 2 yrs now . It’s 

           been really complicated because there are conflicting 

           accounts of his life . I know where he was born , the 

           year , his love of dogs , his marriages and film career 

           but when it comes to the really important stuff ; those 

           tiny details , everyone has a different opinion or they

           disagree.  Was Rudy really homeless after arriving 

           to New York from Italy ?  Some say yes and no . 

          Believe me , I’m not an “expert” about Rudy’s life ,  

          I’m a lifelong fan and want to learn more about him 

          so it’s only natural that I’m curious about the man who 

          lit up those black and white screens with so much fire 

          and passion.   That being said , I’m not afraid of what 

          I have found or what other facts I will find because Rudy 

          was more than a screen idol , he was human . But again 

          what is the truth . Even during his time there was so 

          much rumor and gossip which blew up after his tragic 

          death.  His exes , managers , fans running the gossip 

          mills after poor Rudy was already laid to rest .     

          I personally don’t believe anything his ex wives said 

          about him and I believe he liked both women and men 

          which really doesn’t change who Valentino was as a 

          person.  I also believe his ex- wives used him ; Winifred 

          his second ex-wife controlled and used him and I’ll be 

          dedicating a whole blog to her. Also I do believe Rudy 

          very possibly fathered his nephew which I know is a 

          very touchy subject and I’ve been looking into it

          extensively .  Rudy has many myths attached to him 

          but he was a person not a mythological creature . 

                        I am more concerned about the man 

                                       Not the myth !
